Rose Mukhar (she/her) is the Founder, Executive Director, and Principal Attorney of Justice At Last, which empowers those who have been labor trafficked and commercially sexually exploited by providing them with access to free legal representation. Founded in 2015, Justice At Last is the only nonprofit law firm in the San Francisco Bay Area exclusively serving the legal needs of human trafficking survivors. The trauma-informed and rights-based firm is a mobile practice—meeting clients where they already receive trusted services. To date, Justice At Last has served over 1,000 human trafficking survivors and provided training to 9,635 individuals.
Rose is a social justice, human rights, and crime victims’ rights attorney. Prior to founding Justice At Last, she had a pro bono practice that became a model for the organization, providing mobile legal services that specialized in representing trafficking survivors, including immigration relief, enforcement of crime victim rights, vacating criminal records related to forced criminality, as well as family law such as divorce, custody, and restraining orders. Rose draws inspiration and motivation from the strength, courage, wisdom, and grace of her clients, and she is passionate about ensuring that trafficking survivors have access to free specialized legal services so they can achieve justice on their own terms.
Rose is grateful for the sabbatical, which will give her a chance to “pause, breathe, disconnect, recharge, reflect, and reset – and come back even stronger.”
